The Well and the Lighthouse

You'd think by the way that I'm neglecting this blog that my life is either a black hole of nothingness, or so busy I don't have time to breath, let alone write. Both would be incorrect assumptions. In fact, my issue is that I'm so busy having fun and being productive that I have too many things to tell that I can't just focus on one particular one. So I've decided it's time for some word vomit. Lets see where this goes.

First and foremost, my daughter. In recent weeks I have been able to see my beautiful little girl on a fairly regular basis each weekend. While I'd ideally like to see her every day, I'll take what I can get, given that I live an hour away from her and am in school full time. Each time I see her I swear she's gotten bigger. Though she's only 4 months old, she's already wear 6 month sized clothes. I suppose that would make sense since no one on Mom's side of the family is under 6 feet, and Grandpa on my side is a solid 6'6" as well. It's going to be odd being shorted than both my sisters and my daughter someday...

Thankfully, the ladyfriend clocks in at a nice low 4'10", so I sort of tower over her. For those of you that were wondering, yes, she is legally a midget. Things are going really with her so far. Not a day goes by that I don't find something else that I like in her. I suppose after so many misses I was bound to find a hit eventually.

The rest of my social life continues to grow as well. Despite loosing quite a few friends to graduation and transfers last year, I have once again expanded my circle. Nearly every night of the week has some sort of social activity I can do, and if all else falls through, there never fails to be an auto club member or two at the bars.

Speaking of Auto Club, the presidency has been keeping me fairly busy so far this semester, and things are just getting started. Already I'm having to start sponsorships, creating the poster and web site, and pushing the other members to help me out. It's all lots of fun though. It will be interesting to see how I strike a balance with everything as the show gets closer. Thankfully Phil from Max-Bilt will be helping the club get some sponsorships, so money won't be as much of an issue as I originally feared.

Some of you are probably wondering, what the heck is Max-Bilt? It's a Jeep parts company that is based out of Stout. For the people out there that know me well, I am sort of a Jeep lover of sorts. So when I found out Stout was hosting a company, I had to find out more. Long of the short of it is, I'm now the official Max-Bilt intern. I help Phil design products and manage the web site, and he helps me work on my Jeep. It's a pretty good system. Plus having an internship will look great on my resume.

Last, though probably not least, is school. This semester is going to strike the right balance of challenge and ease, with two basic classes I can phone in, and two design classes that will have to work to succeed at. MAV is going to be fun since it is a more in-depth Industrial Design class, but Graphic Design is probably just going to annoy me. As long as I can stay on top of things I shouldn't have too hard of a time though.

Well, there you have it, my longest blog post to date, and a full update of the major happenings in my life. So long and thanks for all the fish.
